101 Years Old and Still Going Strong!

How many of us can say we helped celebrate the birthday of a centenarian? Well, many families and friends gathered recently to honor an incredibly special and loving 101-year-old widow, Ms. Brown. Ms. Brown has been an active part of the HopeWorks ministry for many years. She always has a smile on her face and a kind word of encouragement for all who know her.

"She's Keeping It Moving" was the slogan for this special day of celebration. Ms. Brown still lives in her home and is very independent. In fact, she was still driving herself around until last year, at age one hundred, when she decided it was time to turn over her car keys, not because she had to, but because “she” decided it was time. Independent and spirited, Ms. Brown still cooks for herself, cleans her house, and stays active with family and friends.

It is our joy and pleasure to be a part of Ms. Brown's life and to have her as a part of our HopeWorks Senior Fellowship family. She is just one example of why God has called us to this very special ministry to senior adults, and specifically widows. HopeWorks is committed to helping these widows age in place in their own homes as long as they are able. Why do we do this? Because they live healthier and happier lives when living in their own homes!

Happy Birthday, Ms. Brown. You are loved and celebrated!
