Mrs. Glover's New Roof

Collaboration: The Act of making something together.

Sometimes it takes a unique collaboration to complete a task. In God’s kingdom of believers, there are always people willing to give of their time to help. It is amazing to see how God brings people together to accomplish His work. Such was the case for Mrs. Glover getting her new roof.

I first met Mrs. Glover on a quality control visit after HopeWorks replaced her gas furnace and water heater. She is the widow of a veteran and was in desperate need of help ever since a person ran into a power pole in front of her house which damaged her roof. Mrs. Glover and I agreed to begin to pray for her a new roof, and God answered mightily through a collaboration of His people.

First, a roofing company volunteered to tarp her roof to help stop the rain from coming in. Next, a group of volunteers from Johnson Ferry Baptist Church took a week of their time to rebuild her soffits, which had to be complete before the roof could be installed. Then, a HopeWorks board member connected us with Atlas Roofing who donated, at cost, shingles and other roofing materials. Finally, through another divine encounter, Speedy Turtle Roofing provided the labor to deck and shingle the roof at a deeply discounted price.

The result of this interesting collaboration was a much-needed roof installed for an incredibly grateful Mrs. Glover. With a heart full of gratitude, Mrs. Glover said, “I feel like shouting and dancing for joy! Thank you all for blessing me with this new roof!”

I love to watch how God collaborates by dynamically bringing the body of Christ together to accomplish His work. When you give to HopeWorks, YOU become an integral part of God’s collaboration to look after His Widows in need. Thank you for giving and for caring!
